Cristian Núñez
Cris is a co-founder and managing partner at Kogi Capital, leveraging his extensive experience in corporate credit, private investments, and corporate development to drive innovative solutions in environmental and financial sectors. He has played a pivotal role in shaping Kogi’s innovative indoor air pollution control platform and has co-led investments in diverse sectors, including software-as-a-service, food & beverages, affordable real estate, ecotourism, water treatment, industrial suppliers, wealth management, and private credit.
Cristian brings a background in corporate credit from his five years at J.P. Morgan, where he worked on various private credit products (term loans, bridge loans, lines of credit, interest & FX swaps, mezzanine, and unitranche loans) in the Municipal Credit, Latin American Credit, and Mezzanine Credit groups, the last of which was a $1 billion proprietary debt fund within J.P. Morgan's Global Special Opportunities Group. He also led corporate development at Chugach Alaska Corporation, a congressionally created investment vehicle (akin to a family office) for the native peoples of the Prince William Sound region of Alaska, where he completed one significant acquisition per year during his tenure with the corporation.
Cris served on the Audit & Finance Committee of Geneva Woods Pharmacy, a Pacific Northwest specialty Pharmacy that was acquired by CVS in 2017. He has also served on the boards of Preservation Greensboro, the historic preservation society for the Piedmont region of North Carolina, and the Dunleath Neighborhood Association, where he was instrumental in the execution of the now-completed Summit Avenue Streetscape project and the selection of public art along a section of Greensboro’s Downtown Greenway. Cris currently serves on the Board of Directors of Switchback Books, an award-winning literary press, and serves on the Finance & Stewardship Committee of New Garden Friends Meeting. Cris is fluent in English and Spanish and was recognized by the Triad Business Journal as a 40 Under 40 for the Piedmont Triad Region of North Carolina in 2025.
Cris holds a master's degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor's degree from Swarthmore College, where he graduated with honors as a double major in economics.
